Polycarbonite is a plastic that is easily molded, but is susceptible to stress fractures. This is why you often hear of Costa sunglasses to crack. Regardless, you can't tell that these are plastic when on your face. They are very high quality and the clarity of the 580 lens is insanely awesome. I said after my last pair cracked, I wouldn't pay for another set of Costas. Well, the competition isn't even close.I have a bigger head, so these glasses are perfect. I had Man-O-Wars and Frigates. The Man-O-Wars are mid sized compared to these and the Frigates are very small. These are great for my fat head. If you are going to be fishing or driving often with these, get polarized. No exceptions. The polarized lens makes it great for eliminating all glare. They are also great for driving in the rain. PS, if you want glass, get the 580G. They will cost more, but they are glass... This 580P are the best plastic lenses available, they repel water and oils and block the yellow light which is the responsible for eye damage and tiring your eyes. Worth the price. I would only change them for the 580G Blue which are better for more intense sunlight and reflections on water, but this are lighter in weight. 100% recommended |
