I've always found them very comfortable. I live in snow country, unless I'm walking in more than a foot of snow, clogs are great in the snow. Additionally, if you have to stand around a lot - like at a party - clogs distributes your weight real well and makes standing still tolerable.Now buying them on Amazon was a challenge. I have super wide feet (10 � - 6E). I'm not sure when Dansko started coming in wide sizes, but I've never seen them in the stores. I found NO guidance neither on Amazon nor Dansko to figure out how to get the best fit (there is information on lengths - but not widths). I think it is unethical to go to a store and get the product information and then turn around and purchase the product on the internet. So, I did my best guess and ordered. Well, I guessed wrong. On my 3rd pair of Dansko's, the 1st of which were Dansko Men's professional clogs and the 2nd an urban-style clog, more rugged, wider sole. Here's the but part - anything faster than a brisk walk, ie running, will surely twist your ankle. The heel has a narrow base, which is why I bought a size wide to see if this will help. Regardless, its way too comfortable to pass up and it does improve my posture and overall leg fatigue. I wear them casually as well since I run 20-30 miles per week.Also, I tried preserving my old Dansko's by taking them to cobblers for replacement leather insoles, but they last far shorter than the Dansko's leather insoles - disappointing and expensive, so unless you have a great, and competent cobbler, you might as well replace the whole shoe. Replacement insoles have made the fit of the previous shoes tighter, so that didn't work. |
